The gymnastics academy of five-time Olympic champion Nellie Kim was created as a part of the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism in 2011.
In 2017 a refurbished sports hall was opened to the public. The purchase of the equipment was supported by the Kazakhstan Gymnastics Federation and the Samruk-Kazyna Trust Social Development Foundation.
Equipment is certified by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG).
