Austrian Economic mission to Georgia and Azerbaijan

In the period from May 15th to May 18th, 2018 AVK GmbH participated in Austrian economic mission to Tbilisi (Georgia) and Baku (Azerbaijan). This event was organized at the highest level by Economic Chamber of Austria (WKO).
On the first and second days of the mission AVK GmbH held the meetings with the representatives of Georgian sports federations and construction companies. E.g. AVK GmbH talked to the top officials from the national Federation of figure skating, national Federation of gymnastics etc. AVK GmbH received precious first-handed information about specific projects, about the development of Georgian sport in general and the pace of construction of the concrete sports facilities, about the main challenges hindering the development of the sports construction market inside the country.
The third and fourth days of the economic mission took place in Baku. Almost every year Azerbaijan holds major social, sporting and cultural events, e.g. Eurovision 2012, Grand-prix of Formula 1 2018 and many others. This trend is being continued - UEFA Europa League 2019 final will be held in Baky. There is a huge interest from Azerbaijan side in borrowing the European experience and the purchasing of high-quality equipment. Important meetings were held by AVK GmbH during these two days, including the negotiations with representatives of the National Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Sport, sports federations. AVK GmbH received information on the current state of the local market, as well as requests for the supply and installment of sports equipment for the national projects.
In general, this WKO business mission gave a fairly clear idea of the current situation in the sports industry in these two states. AVK GmbH got the opportunity to present our brand to the local officials and businessmen, received a number of very perspective requests, so without any doubts this economic mission can be considered a success for AVK GmbH – we’re moving further!
