Round-table with the Kyrgyz construction delegation
16.08.2018, Vienna, Austria
5 interesting facts about Kyrgyzstan:
- Lengthiest epic in the world was written by the Kyrgyz people - “Manas” with 500,000 lines. Manas is the name of the national hero who rallied the scattered peoples into one united Kyrgyz nation.
- 40 is the lucky number – since Manas used to have 40 clans. The name “Kyrgyz” most likely derives from the Turkish word meaning “forty”. That’s also the reason why country’s flag has a 40-ray sun in the center.
- Kyrgyzstan is one of the world’s least crowded countries - with only 25.9 residents per sq km.
- That’s a landlocked country, despite that the Kyrgyz have world’s second largest and soooo beautiful alpine lake Issyk-Kul (behind Titicaca in South America), one of the most popular holiday resorts of former USSR.
- If you decide to travel there – get prepared for kymus (they drink it way a lot!). That’s a traditional drink made from fermented mare’s milk which has a slightly sour taste with a small percentage of alcohol (caused by the lactic acid fermentation). A rather … special one, but super healthy!
On the 13th of August, 2018 WKO (Economic Chamber of Austria) organized bilateral round-table for the relevant Austrian companies with the delegation of the heads of the “green” construction companies from Kyrgyzstan.
AVK GmbH are already very well familiar to Kyrgyzstan - in 2018 we participated in a project of creating two brand new multisport and wellness centres on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, in the cities of Jalal-Abad and Naryn. During only the last 3 years AVK GmbH fully equipped 9 sports complexes in Kyrgyzstan in total, including the one in Bishkek, the capital of the country. All the objects are very different in size and content.
Kyrgyz side was truly fascinated by the presentation made by AVK GmbH – since e.g. our multisport centre in Cholpon-Atahosted World Nomad Games – an international sport competition dedicated to the ethnic sports popular in Central Asia, an event that is close to a heart of every Kyrgyz citizen. Moreover the opening ceremonies of our multisport centres across Kyrgyzstan got the widest publicity possible inside the country – due to the participation of the top state officials from Kyrgyzstan, Russia and other states. E.g. Arashan (a location for our another sports centre) is a birthplace for the former President of Kyrgyzstan. Mr. Almazbek Atambaev (at that point of time – as a sitting Head of State) invited his colleagues from Russia (Mr. Vladimir Putin) and from Armenia (Mr. Serge Sargsyan) to take part in the opening ceremony.
During the round-table AVK GmbH held B2G and B2B negotiations with the counsellor to the Administration office of the President of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan (the head of Kyrgyz delegation), counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan in Vienna, advisors of JIA Business Association and with the CEOs of several Kyrgyz construction companies. AVK GmbH re-emphasized the fact that we are fully open for all suggestions from Kyrgyz side and would be pleased to continue our successful activities on the local market. Next stage of the negotiations will follow soon – either Bishkek or Vienna again…
