AVK GmbH team provided technical support during AIBA Youth Women’s & Men’s World Championships Budapest 2018
25.08.2018, Budapest, Hungary
Marvelous Hungary is a popular travel destination for its Austrian neighbors and not only. Though the country is not just about Franz Liszt, Balaton lake and goulash! E.g. did you know that the Rubik’s cube was invented by Hungarian sculptor and professor Erno Rubik in 1974?
In August 2018 Budapest – a town of ancient Roman ruins, postmodern designs and thermal springs – for twelve days became also a capital of boxing: it hosted AIBA Youth Women’s & Men’s World Championships. Professional and even-handed team of AVK GmbH in cooperation with Swiss Timing provided a technical support of the event’s timekeeping system.
Twenty superb champions from nine nations were crowned at the end of the championship. Russia’s athlete Dzhambulat Bizhamov won Best Men Boxer, Canada’s Charlie Cavanagh won Best Women Boxer and USA’s Augie Sanchez won Best Coach in 2018 Youth World Championships awards. Best team 2018 – Team Russia, Fair Play Award – Team Hungary.
