The OSB8-SW starting block has been designed in compliance with FINA-Regulations. It
consists of a plate fitted with an electro-mechanical contact system. This plate is to be
fixed on a base provided in the swimming pool concept.
The electro-mechanical contact closes during the swimmer’s take-off. The horizontal
pushing carried out by the swimmer represents the force exercised at the instant of his
start.
As a matter of fact, the OSB9-SW starting block permits to detect the swimmer’s presence
with the accuracy of an infinitely small fraction of a second, until the instant he leaves the
starting block.
The platform movement is enabled by 4 rubber shock absorbers (Silentblock) acting like a
spring fixation.
The platform movements are very small:
~1,5mm vertical by full charge (~100 kg)
~0,5mm horizontal (adjustment)
